Very nice, Linda. Just wanted to wish ya luck in the contest.. Your creation turned out beautiful and all the detail is just splendid. It certainly has a concrete appeal. Good luck!

My dearest sweetest Barb. This contest is over. I appreciate your true desire for this piece to win. It is over, and finished. Your review is most valuable to my soul, my heart and my spirit.

OMG! How did I manage to miss this piece? It is exquisitely done. So sorry I am only able to give you a 5 but take a cyber 10 on me! I know by your style who you are and to me you as I have always said are the best artist on FAR.
And how dare Mr New ego trip illustrator guy rip into this masterpiece the way he did!
And is he technically right about his quote advice? Shit no on every single issue!!
Glad you stood up to him too! Who does he think he is anyway. Maybe he'll decide to run for president next. All I know is I may not know alot but I do know good art when I see it and this piece is a masterpiece! So he can take his piece of advice and shove it where the sun don't shine.
I can't believe I actually thanked him for the advice he gave me on my piece.
Well I'll get off of my soap box now and tell you to keep on doing what you are doing and that is a steady flow of outstanding pieces of art!
Love Barb Baker

Linda, I am not sure if you got my last message regarding the contest that you have 'Snuggles' in. I wanted to let you know that you inadvertently have your signature on that entry. I would hate to see you loose the contest by having it one there. Maybe you could crop it out or something for the time being by scanning it and reentering it as an edited piece. Just thought you would want to know. Thanks,

Hey, Linda! This is a very good entry into the contest and contrary to Lucien's opinion, I had no problem recognizing this as a statue-each artist will bring his or her own style to the project at hand as you have here. Even in statues there is room for soft and hard shadows. In any case, another comment from me: Illustrator1's comments are quite demeaning and although I have not reviewed any of his work, I have seen it on Fine art america-it is too plastic and contrived and celebrity-oriented to appeal to me personally. He does have a style that belongs to him but not to be imposed on others. That being said, I am a fanatic for expression of one's self and own style in art and if that means some areas of the figure are exaggerated and some minimized, it is what you have seen and processed and want to present. You have definitely achieved the broken winged feeling and a sense of loss and despair. I particularly like the work on the stone steps and can feel the solidness and the heaviness ! jean

Great drawing with attention to detail. Excellent interplay of light and shadow. Emotive, visually haunting. Beautifully framed with great visual impact. Very well done. ~Alveria

Very nice drawing, I like all the shadow and light in it, and also the textures. Wish I could draw:) The angel herself looks very sad, hiding her face, very sad. Thanks for sharing. Good job.

I feel sadness and somewhat frightened with this sketch but it is very moving. The wings you added are fantastic. The balance of your shading was very good. Hope you do happier sketches.

My next one is very sad.

Oh, wow, Linda, how powerful. Sans the wings how often I've put my arms around someone with such overpowering grief they could only cover their face and sob. After doing approximately 400 memorial services you can imagine the kinds of grief I've witnessed.
Now that I've been using your pencil suggestions I'm studying how you do your details. My, my what a master you are!
Thanks for your terrific art.

Thank you so much Clyde. There is an artist here that doesn't see me as such.

An artist that doesn't see you as such? Poor thing. Can't recognize it or jealous. You've mastered the drawing. Feelings and emotions and faith ooze out of your work. I can hardly wait until your next one.
"Look what Linda's done now," I say to Betty Jo as I show her your next piece.

This is worth a six for technique, composition and idea - what you are able to do with a simple pencil always makes me speechless as it looks like a photograph a bit edited on the computer - being the other way around it just shows perfection possible coming out of a hand -
this design is magnificent, the way the angel is sitting there with his tattered wings is heart touching - your shadow and light application is handsome, the textures you created in the background with all these different special shades doubles the effect of deepness and even looks like an old wall painting that has overcome 100s of years - excellent presentation, all the best for the contest

I like this work because it is so classical in its concept and drawing although a bit gloomy in its atmosphere; The light and shadow and the composition have worked well. Good luck!

You did an amazing job! This is absolutely beautiful! I understand why this angel was in a grave yard, her look tells it all. The feathers are wonderful. The strokes and shadows used really are nothing short of spectacular. This angel looks real, not hand drawn. Thanks for sharing!
