The photo looks brilliant, but there is much potential. I feel that the red on the firetruck could have been contrasted better, perhaps with a pale background. Otherwise, I think it is pretty cool and has a retro feel!

I have a vignette around the photo. Is that what you mean about a pale background? Or, do you think I should dodge the background a bit.
reply by warrenbisch on 04-Oct-2015
I think the focus should be less on the background, as the firetruck is the key part of the image.

Very nice angle to the shot with a great leading line and depth of field. What I really like is the post work on the color... very shimmery candy apple red on the fire truck. Great focus. Fine exposure. Fabulous eye for the post work. Thanks for sharing.

Small town fire with sense of urgency always. I like how brilliant and clean this photo looks and I can imagine it rushing down Main Street heading to it's next emergency.

Fine capture Meg!
Nice focus, angle, exposure and fab colors.
Your tweaking in the digital dark room kicked it up a notch. I only have wishes for a bit more space on the right.
Nice work :)

Thank you. I wish I had more room on the right as well but I had to crop tight to get rid of a utility pole that was there. :)

Absolutely big and red...:) Had to do that. For as fast as he was probably moving, this is a well focused photograph. The light is very well done. I think you timed it very well. Thank you for sharing.

You should have saved this for the Red contest which will show up eventually, lol. Very nice capture of this fire engine Meg. In the future when framing a journalism shot such at this, pay attention to the other elements in the image, are they distracting? Can you find a shot that the frame only holds your subject, for at an angle that you can crop out other items :)

Nice capture, with good focus and good clarity of your colors :)

Thank you. I understand your point. I was able to remove some distracting elements by cropping but was unable to remove all of them.

A really nice shot on this fire truck, although just a touch too dark. Focus is really good, Composition great, getting the entirety of the vehicle in the shot. Good color. thanks so very much for sharing.

Thank you. Is it the color red that is too dark or the entire photo? I appreciate your input because if it is just the red I can reduce the saturation of just that color.

The entire photo actually, but more so around the edges.

ohhh. It is supposed to be darker around the edges because I applied a vignette which serves to focus on the truck which is the point of interest. As for the rest of the photo I may try to lighten it up a bit. Thanks for you input. :)
