Oh be still my heart. This is so awesome. I fell in love with Paul and his blue blue eyes when he was on TV in about 1958, before anyone know how he was. Fabulous drawing. Absolutely outstanding.

I am a Paul Newman fan. Loved his work. I think you have captured his essence perfectly. I even sense a bit of a swagger in the drawing. It's in his eyes. So well done. You are quite a talent. Good luck in the contest and thank you for sharing.

I love most everything you do... yes... I know. LOL. What follows is not meant to offend and is not critical of execution it is my FEELINGS, is my EMOTIONAL reaction to this drawing...

Anyway - I must tell you that I find this very disturbing. It is as if he is starring in a Stephen King horror movie and whatever is after him is slowly drawing the life and light from his skin. It feels to me as if ... as if when the life leaves him his skin reacts... He appears ill.

This is different from what I am used to seeing... usually the posts are full of light - very different. Nicely done in low key but... I'm thinking a different actor and I might have reacted differently. Newman, as far as I know has never had such a dark side. The one thing that keeps me from jumping off a cliff are his eyes in this... I think you captured that perfectly. I also think generally you have captured his features well. I just am not in for the perfect darkness. Bold statement. Thanks for sharing, Good luck in the contest.

From Hud. To Cat on a Hot Tin Roof, to butch and Sundance and all the others, you captured the man. Pensive, thoughtful and maybe daydreaming.
My wife and I were having a private anniversary dinner at a country club on the shores of Lake Tahoe. The waiter seemed smitten with Betty. Finally he said, "has anyone ever told you that you look like Joanne Woodward." My wife blushed and thanked him profusely.
He then looked at me and said, "but you sir, do not look like Paul Newman."
What a gift you have and thank you for sharing. I'd like to send you a photo of our grandson, Jordan since your portrait of Paul reminds me so much of him. Tell me how.
Immanuel,
Clyde
