This macro seems to have some attributes of watercolor applied to it. That really does work... and probably something you achieved in good use of Topaz. I also, like the push-pull of the yellow and maroon. However, the stamen blend into the background and are not really differentiated from it. I know, intuitively, that they are there -- and a trace of them exists, but photographically, I wish the viewer could see them more clearly.

This is a photo with really strong initial impact because of the vivid colors. It is not much going so well together as purple and yellow. I do however think that Topaz Simplify wasn't the best filter to use for this photo. And especially since it is a macro shot where you are meant to see clearly the details that you cannot see with your naked eye. I think it has blurred the droplets instead of making them stand out.
I also would have liked to see the top of stamens standing out better, since they are the center of interest.
I do however think that the cropping has worked well, and that the flower has got a good placement within the frame. I think this is a beautiful photo in many ways, and it almost has a painterly feel to it. It just doesn't work so well for this contest in my opinion, and the stamens should have been better defined. Still I wish you luck with the contest.

Oh my gosh what beauty on this Day Lilly. Center of impact is outstanding with the striking sharp yellow center with jewels of light purple abound! Fiery maroon edges and spears of the center of the flower look they are ready for battle! Absolutely gorgeous Macro nice cropping and focus. Good luck in the contest!
