Lovely. Well done trees and the deer is rendered well. The depths of the forest are shown clearly and thoughtfully. The shading is extremely realistic and beautiful. The one thing that I notice though is that there seems to be a bit of a disconnect between the deer and the forest. While the forest is done in cool colors reminiscent of winter, the deer is done in a warmer tone almost as if he/she is in a spring or summer meadow.

Angel, thank you so very very much. It's rather hard to tell, but the whole painting has a reddish-brown overlay added. :))mw

LOL. It's just like photos... sometimes they come out OK, and sometimes not. :))))

This is so gorgeous with such sharp and intense colors. Very beautiful and precise. Love the snow covered trees with such depth and lighting with shadows. Sunlight on the deer is vibrant and eye pleasing. Blue hews in background bring out the trees. Very nice framing and contrasts. Excellent job!

Very nice digital art piece. Everything looks very realistic and I agree that the deer looks like hes wondering where everyone went. I especially like the snow on the trees.

Should I say Merry Christmas. This is truly a wonderful piece of art. The colors are outstanding and the detail is superb. The fawn is so life-like it looks like he is going to jump off the page and into my life I can see why you are ranked so high - it is deserved. Thanks for sharing and have a great week.

Moonwillow, it's digital art but so realistic looking and it's thanks to your prowess. I am especially referring to the dappled effect you placed on that fawn/deer, by doing that you have made it real. The shadows in the snow further give depth to this art.

We can see your artistic eye in the compositional style you have used. Placing the deer into that grid line was well thought out and the two trunks by the side hold our eye...visually the journey takes us to deer in colour hue and placement, to tree trunks bright/white (our eyes gravitate to bright spots as you well know) so there is a dance ....deer, to tree trunks, deer to tree trunks and in the background is a delightful pattern well textured, they are the back up singers to a very beautiful and melodic song!
