This is a beautiful and well thought out portrait. I am impressed by the exactness of the brush strokes. The light in the eyes and the wet nose are especial impressive. The brush strokes show the fall of the hair and its texture perfectly. The proportions and perspective are exact. The neutral background is in harmony with the coloring of the dog and emphasizes the dog sufficiently. The painting is also well framed and balanced.
