Initial impact: what a stunning landscape photograph.
Creativity of presentation: Cloud formation is fantastic. It matches the breathtaking mountenous area. This reminds me wallpaper of MacBook Pro.
Color Harmony: eye-pleasing
Center of Interest: the image is sharp and clean. Great focus on it.
Technical Excellence: background bright color is helpful to make the dark cloud and mountains outstanding

Well done and thanks for sharing.

Magnificent shot Paul. It says "artwork" which I think is an error. In either case, this is a fabulous piece of art/photo. Love the contrasts. Way to go my friend.

You travel to amazing places. And from there share amazing photos. The clouds work just right and add to the monochromatic feel to the shot, a sort of gloom. Half Dome looks menacing as I am sure it is but the circle of clouds over head adds to that. The rest of the vista is great but maybe a crop of the photo to focus on the mountain Half Dome could boost that over all feeling of height and awe. Try it out and see if you like it. Great work I look forward to future posts!

I appreciate your great comments and review. I also appreciate your suggestion. However, if I crop, I am afraid that I will lost part of my waterfall (Nevada Falls). To me, they are important to the view.

I like the depth of field captured as the mountains retreat into the background in layers, I like the natural colour and texture of the rock, the moody sky adds interest to the scene,
very well framed, great focus and clarity, thanks for sharing.

Thank you so much for the great review and rating for "Thunderhead Over Half Dome". I am planning on a return trip (tickets already bought) right after Christmas. Hoping to get more nice things to share. Half Dome is one of my favorite photographic subjects there. Looking for a full moon with stars or maybe a nice meteor shower.

This is just outstanding. The way the clouds are almost touched by the top of the peak and the way the top looks like it will be swallowed up by the cloud. Focus, colors and the landscape is excellent. Very beautiful and thanks for sharing.

You are welcome Paul. As for the meteor shower, the best nights to watch will the the 13th of January between 9 ish and midnight. Moon will dissapear over horizon that night and will be great and probably one of the highest content of meteors in quite some time. You should have a superb opportunity to take some outstanding shots. I really look forward to seeing what you gather. Lynn :D

What interesting, soft looking, curvy edged mountain rock. Almost looks like they were poured out of the sky and formed to look this way. I like the color co-ordination with the rock and clouds. lol A gray day all around. lol
good height you hiked to for this great angle. I almost missed the falls till I read your notes. Most interesting to just pour out of rock, water source is hidden well.
great focus and framing too

if you are looking for different space, try just above the border into Alberta, around a town called Milk River, where there is the same type of river sides that are now the sides of mountains, with caves and holes everywhere, where they have found quite a lot of dinosaur bones etc. anyway, the area is called the Who Do's. You could drive from the west of the States, I think through Idaho, or fly to Lethbridge and rent a car, it would be a couple of hours drive catch a Chinook sunset.
I never had a camera, but got a few shots on my friends camera.

Wow what a breathtaking view you captured. Weather and utter emeancity of the Half Dome, waterfalls give so much power in your image! Excellent detail and depth of elevation, with your vantage point. Your road is really high up and would love to be there. Thank You for sharing.

Paul,
I
You have an amazing shot of that thunder cloud...with a hole in it? It looks like the mountain peak is about to poke right through it! Very nice view and it must have been
even more spectacular to view it in person.

You have somehow been able to capture really nice lighting and it is very intriguing to view...It's pretty flat here in Florida.

Super nice and thanks for sharing,
Linda

I like the almost monotone with grey clouds and grey rocks. I don't think I've seen half-dome from this point of view where it's "facing left" on the left side of the image. It's creative and different. It almost looks an alien landscape. Nicely done.
