An especially beautiful work. The richness of tones and textures is tactile. The choice of B&W is inspired as it captures more of the essence of the composition. A Beautiful and delicate image captured magnificently!

Love that you like this image. Not very much like my abstracts, much more subdued and peaceful. Flowers were always my first love in photography and it feels good to take the images a little farther. Happy New Year!

good contest entry, I like the framing which I think enhances this lovely flower, good capture on the individual petals as they unfurl with nice detail, great focus, nice conversion
to b/w which works well, good luck in the contest.

Very good entry for the contest. I like the angle you used for this close up of the beautiful dahlia. I think the conversion to black and white shows the markings on the petals better than they would be in colour. I also like how you filled the frame.

Lighting and focus very good showing excellent clarity. Very nice composition. Good luck in the contest. Suzanne

This is beautiful. Dahlia's are one of my favorite flowers. I like how you did this off center and made it to black and white. It seems to bring out the texture in the flower. The black background makes the flower stand out even more. Great job. Very well done.

Paula, I love this, especially because you converted to b-w and effectively toned the flower. It's soft and beautiful and the pure black background helps the viewer maintain focus on the subject.

Very beautiful. I like seeing the veins in the petals. I also like the use of black and white. Your framing is good as well. I like that you took the close-up even though it meant not getting the entire flower in the frame. All technical merits are excellent. Good luck in the contest.
