This is such a pretty and creative photo of your mother's brooch. Reminds me of mother of pearl. I love the white and gold combination. The thin gold framing almost seems a part of the photo as the lines seem a part of the brooches gold line trim. Lovely position to the left of the frame. I can't quite get it straight what the brooch looks like...maybe you're showing just a small piece of it??

I thought at first this was for the White-on White contest but I see it's for a macro contest.

Beautiful Clean, sharp image of the pearl. I like the way the shadow of the pearl seems to flow to right and fill up into the dead space. The shell is highlighted by the gold rim. Also the fine detail on the shell is a added bonus. It's a winner. Lots of luck.
