This is very nice Cleo. I like the colors you used for this guy's feathers and the way you were able to create the iridescent shine of the purple feathers.

I like how with today's technology you can paint something digitally that looks like something painted on a canvas. You have transferred your skills as a painter and easily translated them onto the digital realm. Excellent job with the contrast of the bird with the light and mild colors of the grass, with good subtle play on light.

WOW a huge bird - your painting really reflects your explanation and the way he enters the frame is well thought through - a nice portrait with excellent detail work and genuine face expression - the environment you created fits perfectly in style and color range- it is well balanced and has a good initial impact
I like the long grass touching him as it creates a real life effect in addition ,
perfect use of space , well done Cleo

this is such a brilliant picture. i have just past a massive flock of crows doing exactly the same on the ground but i did not have any camera. i was looking to get a similar shot. loving the eye to his nicely pointed beak. i did manage to get a shot of the crow who tried to kill my pet tortoise.

I am sorry about your tortoise. I hope your pet recovered from the attack quickly.

yes she was fine but if i had not been there, it would have been killed.

She was lucky. Those birds can be really mean and vicious.
reply by Mr Jones on 02-Dec-2019
yes i previously did not know they were dangerous to a pet. i will post a couple of shots soon.

Hey Cleo! You have captured the emotion of the grackle so well. The position and gaze provide a nice initial impact which leave the viewer intrigued. The work has been very well rendered and I like the contrast between the bird and the green vegetation. Overall a nice eye catching work!

I always enjoy your insight into your digital art. You colours are bold and alive. More on the realistic style! This is a fine digital painting of the bird. Overall a fine effort!

Cool,Cleo!
That's a fine looking digitally created rendition of this handsome Avian creature,my friend! : )
Grackles are sometimes thought to have a vaguely 'sinister' reputation but I've always admired their strikingly 'crow like' good looks! : )

The grackle is very well created with realistic shape and structure, beautiful face and nice detail in its beak, I also notice and appreciate that eye, it's just like the photos I have seen of this bird! I like the way you placed him in the frame , coming in from the right, he's searching for food, possibly in or very near to this fallen log.i like the green grass background , it's very effective in showing this beautiful bird! Very impressive work, it's a pleasure to view!

Beautiful work Cleo! The coloring in the grass is very realistic, and the bird is exceptional. The shading, colors, and details in the feathers are just perfect. Nicely done!
