Just simply gorgeous. The details and the colors are wonderful. The close crop feel gives us a wonderful up close view of the Lady Bug. Your attention to detail and a narrow DOF of the Lady give a sharp POV. The faded feel of the foliage is also perfect.

While you're at it, make it appear bigger by cropping the green backdrop.
But this is an impressive rendition of a macrofied subject.
This is a 9-spotted ladybug, I supposed...

I can see by your portfolio that you have been very active lately, and I can also see that is a very nice entry for this contest. I have looked at your painting for a long time, and decided that what I like the best. It is actually how cleverly you have introduced light by a very good use of highlights. This has even given a nice shine in the wings of the ladybug.

The insect is also done paying very good attention to even the smallest details, and I like the way it is all framed by the green foliage. I also like the fine textures and brush strokes in the greens.

The format and framing of the painting is perfect and so is the placement of the ladybug. I think it is a good flow and balance in the composition. It is also a really well crafted digital painting, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Beautiful painting! I love the loose style this is painted with, creating movement and a wonderful artistic effect. One suggestion I have would be to soften out the lady bug's spots and eyes a little so they aren't so harsh against the rest of the piece. Great blending techniques on the ladybug's shell!

Thank yo very much for your honest review and your suggestion. I am not sure how I could soften the oil colors. I will have to experiment on it. I do not now if I could overpaint this part. I might need to start over and paint anew. Anyway Since it is already posted in the contest I cannot change anything jet. I have to wait until the contest ends.

What a delightful image. Wonderful colors. A great variety of soft textures and of course, the lady bug (or bird. I think it is a regional thing). Wing slightly open, looks like she is just about ready to "fly away home". Really, really good job.

I have a program [ArtRage] which allows me choose the kind of canvas or paper I wish to draw on. The program delivers the texture of canvas or paper I choose. Then I chose the kind of colors and brushes I wish to paint on. Than I paint or draw with a tool similar to a pen on a tablet.
