What a beautiful woman. She wears her history on her face. The eyes look deep in thought and just a slight smile. I would say this woman has been through a lot and is a survivor. So refreshing to see a natural beauty.

We are heading out that way and I'm terrified of the place....have been reading that everyone is out for "MONEE _ GIMME MONEE" so photography is difficult. I curse the first photographer to give a greenback to their subject....grrrr.

This image is blurred....but interesting.

A wonderful portrait of this old woman, her face crisscrossed by the lines of a long life. She may never have used a beauty cream, but the face shines with inner peace and serenity. Very nice colors on her head scarf and the intricate design on her jacket. Well done.

Beautiful wrinkles, you are correct! She has likely earned them!

I like the tight shot that really shows her age. The head wear balanced the background very well.

Excellent!

She looks to be a sweet village elder who one would never disrespect. She has a beautiful face; wrinkles and all. I love cultural photos and wish I could travel more in order to embrace images such as this. Great capture and thank you for sharing her with us. She will be immortalized.

    thanks a lot Tiffany for your nice comments and high rating; but better avoid the 5 1/2, lost for you and me;
reply by Tiffany L. on 15-Apr-2016
    I'm sorry I am confused. Why do you not feel that this is worth 5 1/2 stars? Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. I really enjoy the photo of this village elder.

    not what I mean; it is very nice to get a 45 1/2; unfortunately, as you can see, on this site the 5 1/2 doesn't count for rating after 10 reviews; a stupid decision; hence better to choose 5 or 6;

    Oh I see now. Sorry...I thought that you were insulted by the score. Well I am glad that you were not insulted and I will watch the reviews in the future. *wink*

Love your image of this old lady. She is ageless. Wish we could see more of her colourful costume but the tight crop draws the eye to her face. Excellent composition, focus and light.

Just out of curiosity, how did you get to North Vietnam? The capture of this little lady is stunning. The expression is priceless and sweet. The colorful head scarf along with the edge of colorful fabric is delightful. I have some shots of the Honduran mountain grandmas.

She is beautiful. Your image is also but I see a bit of soft focus in her face. Dof issue? Or FAR uploading? Your colors and composition are superb. She has such a serene look about her. I expect she has much more on her mind than botox. A very nice image indeed.
