I have tried long exposures of the moon and I caught the movement of it. You did an excellent job on this photo. What was your exposure. I took the iso to 6500 and took a second or two exposure. I didn't get the trails.

Thank you. I used aperture priority at I think it was 8 and the shutter speed was 1/80 at 200. I did have to play with the contrast in Raw to bring out the details. The moon was so bright the details were looking washed out. But when I increased the contrast and shadows in Raw all the details just popped out. I then used topaz lens effects with the UV filter and the image became very clear and sharp.

200 1/80 at f8 Think about this. It was still too fast for the details. If the moon was washed out maybe 1/160 or even 1/200 could have been used. Thanks for the info.

That is what I read on the file and I light focused right on the center of the moon. I let the camera choose the shutter speed. Maybe I will go manual next time with fast shutter speed.

Great. I really would like to try night sky photos but I know it will take a lot of practice and patience

Amazing level of detail in this shot. Thanks for the setting you posted. I have done a lot of Moon pictures but have never gotten close to this detail.

Awesome!

Such a beautiful, clear and crisp photo of the moon. Absolutely gorgeous. I didn't appreciate the image from the thumbnail, it wasn't until I saw it in full size did I notice all the markings on the moon and how clear the night sky must have been. Great capture, well done :)

Wow! This is a wonderful moon shot! The colors are fantastic and the detail and textures are good. The photo is nicely cropped and the moon has a nice placement off to the right. Fine taken photo with a good perspective. Good luck with the contest! Thanks for sharing!

This is an awesome photo. I definitely see the man on the moon. Leave it to us humans to see faces in anything. I missed the strawberry moon, so it is great to see a photo of it -thank you!! Good luck in the contest!

Wow. What a striking picture of the full moon. The details are so sharp and in perfect focus. The faint coloring makes this a beautiful photo. Very well done ~ Steve

Sharp clean shot. The bit of offset is very well presented. The evening of June 20 was not this clear for me. Our sky was overcast. The time exposure and settings presents us with a great look at the man in moon.
