A striking shot and an attractive composition. It must be quite a challenge to expose for a flower that dark. I think the altered background is not only attractive but also a requirement since the surroundings will tend to be overexposed.

Fantastic and one of the few of my favorites. Imposing, yes they are and just beautiful. Black, blues, deep violets, dark burgundy, they are amazing. Properly shadowed, detailed and centered this is an astonishing photo and great eye viewer.

whoa Annie! What a spectacular site.

I need to learn how to do those swirls, you add them at the right eye pleasing visual.

this is fantastic and the flowers do almost look black, but I do see the dark purples and reds there as well.

Just gorgeous closeup of these beautiful velvety blooms. These look so deep and dark and the background representing midnight brings the image beyond just a picture of flowers, but a dream, a vision. Unforgettably lovely.
