This is indeed taken from an unusual angle, and when I saw the thumbnail I wondered what all the white dots were. LOL When opening it I could of course see what it was, and all the white sails are indeed standing out well against the blue sea.

It is amazing how sharp this photo is from such a distance, and it is nothing wrong with the exposure either.

I also like a lot the panorama format you have used here, and even if the photo is realistic, it also have a certain abstract feel to it. This is indeed a well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Absolutely love this on so many levels: colours, composition, sense of movement, and visual effect. At first, it looks like a flock of birds against a deep blue sky. And in many ways, that is exactly what those spinnakers are doing: filling with air and flying away!

Well that is really interesting sg. I'd heard of spinnakers but never realized exactly how they were made.....appreciate the details here.

Boy you got some marvelous shots during that helicopter ride. This is an unusual angle from which to see a sailboat race. Your photo clearly shows the many boats....the panoramic framing is ideal color. Focus is good....I can see all the different colors of the sails.

For sure a special angle - the distance really brings so many boats into the frame that it almost looks like a painting - the water really has an excellent color saturation nearly surreal
