Eileen,
A fantastic picture of this jet black & very glossy Cormorant busy preening it's wing while keeping that turquoise blue eye fixed on you or it's reflection in you lens. Artistic composition, framing & lighting that makes it's dark plumage glow out from the dark background. Taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

Black on black & it works so well .
The body and layers of feathers good detail
The curve of neck with head beak & that aqua eye very good colours .Clarity is good .
The edits you have applied have helped take this view to the top of the ladder for eye impact / On saying that you had to have good focus colour and light to start . well done .Thanks for view & the very best of luck
