I don't know if it is me or not, but you have this under nature photography and it looks like a lead pipe of some sort. Yes, I see that it is a duct and very shiny at that, but why??

I suppose duct is the name for this pipe like structure, and it is indeed an original item to use. You see, I am Norwegian, and duct is new word for me. It is of course possible to see what this is, but still the photo has an almost abstract feel to it. I especially like the shiny colors of the duct in contrast to the warm browns in the background.
Your photo is also nice and sharp with clear and well defined details, and the all over exposure is fine. Still you have a major blow out at the top with loss of details, and this is a distraction.
The format and framing works well and the structure has got a fine placement within the frame. Indeed a creative and all together well taken photo, but in need of some corrections of the over exposure.

I don't think it is a good idea to do it deliberately, because a big white area is often very distracting because our eyes are drawn to it. But if you like it yourself, that is what counts the most.
