You for sure know how to photograph birds in motion, and it is a lot of that in this photo. Needless to say that the stop action is just perfect, and I think especially the splashes of water are well captured. You have also got such a lovely shine in the water with nice ripples and well captured reflections both from the bird and the splashes.
Your focus is sharp and spot on, and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in the wing of the bird. The light is falling on the bird and the water splashes in such a great way, and the exposure is just perfect.
The cropping could not have been better, and the bird has got a very fine placement within the frame. I think this is a truly great entry for the contest, and it is also lovely and so well taken. I wish you luck with the contest.

This is really cool, usually you see them just waiting,,Ive seen them spear frogs and throw them into their mouths but never actually dive for a fish,,very nice lighting to see the reflection so well on this calm water, love the splash of the water,,this is a great action shot
