Wonderful image, love the digital painting of this. Not sure I have ever seen such a gift! 1/2 on the white spot on the top though - has me mesmerized when I should be having a grand bit of time with the flowers and insect. The textures in this image are quite amazing and wonderful for me. Beautiful image. Thanks for sharing! Good Luck!

Thank you for you much for your review and your honest critic. I think you mean that the high-light above distracted you from the insect and flowers, is that right?

oh the beetle is just there for a cup a milk. he is gonna a block down to pick up some honey from a honeysuckle. course waits till late night to go visit the puss willow flowers. evil grin. man the names folks come up with on flowers.. lol. the depth is great. the shading is great. the blend of color is great. the detail is great. the creation is balance and eye appealing to the viewer. very creative and great job overall

Of course, you got that right. Now it sounds like a story for you to paint. I wonder how that beetle would handle the honeysuckle and the puss willows. ;o)

This is indeed a beautiful entry for this contest, and by the technique you have used I have a pretty good idea who the artist is. I especially like the bokeh you have created in the background, and also the fantastic colors of the blossoms.

The brush work is exquisite and it is easy to see that you have been paying good attention to details. Very good use of high lights as well which has brought depth into the painting.

The composition is strong with the tight framing and the fine placement of the flower, and also the insect has got a fine placement. Indeed a beautiful and well done digital painting, and I wish you luck with the contest. Would have given this 6 stars, but I have already run out.

Thank you very much! I appreciate your through review and your kind wishes.
I created this bokeh because I wanted to come to similar light effects as the impressionists, but with a different style.

The bokeh was just great, and you are more than welcome for the review.

excellent paint of the flowers, but the bug, who should be the main subject, according to the contest, is hardly seem and this is why I took half a star off

thanks for sharing

Thank you for your honest review and you critical input.
Is there a rule that the main subject has to be big? I thought this is not a macro contest, but I will check.
The bug is placed as the center of interest in a position which is similar to the POV in photography. I could not paint the bug bigger because I do not know how he would look in a macro photo. The insect has a size from about 5 mm. I painted all the detail I could see.

An interesting digital artwork. The pink-red-orange flowers are beautiful in texture and formation. Black beetle looks beautiful against colorful flowers and attracts attention.

Well done and thanks for sharing.

I really like the softness of this drawing... even the beetle looks good (less of a creepy ego-skeleton!)

I like the soft bokeh cool-colored background -- with the warm flowers

Thank you very much for you kind review.
The light of the impressionists has always fascinated me. I tried to archive a similar effect, but with a different technique. I tried to paint a bokeh effect as we often see in photos.
