You have indeed captured this Gull well, and I really like the close and personal approach. With the nicely softened background, the bird is standing out in the most excellent way, and especially the eye is well captured.

Your focus is spot on and sharp showing such clear and well defined details in every part of the head, and the exposure is perfect.

The tight cropping is working fine, and the bird has got a very good placement within the frame. A lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF. I wish you luck with the contest.
