----}O Thuuuudddddd!
Imagine that? High shutter low F/stop worked!!
Gorgeous capture of both the Handsome Drake and his Lady Hen. I have never seen the female and I am glad you left her in.
You have fine focus, controlled exposure/white balance and great details.
Love the stop action and captured pose of this couple.
Nice bird photography Sweet Grace!!!
Bravo =)

    Thank you very much! Means a lot to me. I had a lot of trouble getting enough light with the higher shutter speed but I managed it well enough without too much noise that you probably can't tell that was an issue :)

    When you adjust ISO, Exposure Compensation and use Kelvin Scale...Lighting is rarely an issue.
    White balance is key and setting it manually is something worth learning. Took me two yrs.
    Photography is all about the light so I spent two years studying Kelvin Scale...Takes us up to an hour taking test shots before we start taking photos that are keepers.

a great capture grace and very glad that you didn't crop the female: always interesting to see a couple;
nice natural colors with pin sharp focus;

Glad you kept hen in frame as I have only seen male duck over here. Although us men like to wear the best of clothes to impress the ladies this lady looks pretty nifty. Great photo and love your capture of this pair and possible ignoring of that overdressed chancer.

Simply stunning. The crisp colors and proper crop is fantastic. I am glad you left he female in the shot. The male pose is outstanding as it gives a full profile of his colorful feathers. The majestic plumage around his head is very fashionable of royalty. The crop is excellent and gives a nice vertical lift for the pair.

You get my last six star rating but had you left out the female, I don't know. You had yourself an awesome moment. Focus reveals excellent lighting, details, contrast and clarity. Framing is good too. We don't have the mandarins here so I will never see one but wood ducks yes. Thanks for sharing this lovely couple.

I am very happy you did not cut out this lovely little lady because she is doing this photo more than anything. How else would we know why the male is trying his best to look attractive and what he was looking at. I also like very much the pale and softened colors of the background, because it makes the two of them to stand out in an excellent way.

Your photo is also pin sharp and it is indeed clear and well defined details to be seen in both ducks. I also think the exposure is perfect, and the colors crisp and clear.

I also like the way you have cropped the photo and the fine placements of the ducks within the frame. This is indeed a beautiful and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Wow Grace! This is such a pleasure to view! I'm glad you kept the couple together...:D . And thank you for your outstanding artist notes. I love the difference in the male and female...he is definitely a show off and she seems rather shy..with her pink feet and polka dot apron. Fine capture and framing. Thank you for sharing.

Wow! These Mandarin ducks are exquisite and you have captured them beautifully. I like them you left this couple together and showing them at different angles. A nice perspective with sharp focus, eye clarity, and excellent details. Your depth of field is perfect and captures that artistic complimentary background. Well done! A pleasure to view!
