Thank you very much for your encouraging and observative comments. The "smudges' at the right are spotlights distorted by the dust of the past performance and the removal of decorations.

This work of art has great meaning to me. My grandson was in the same position last November. He is 10 and earned a small roll in our local Nutcracker. You have captured the pure emotion of this young dancer. The sheer terror of knowing that she may be cut is captured perfectly. The shading and the soft focus is so elegant. The techniques used show your understanding of conveying emotion and beauty. The use of lighter colors gives a feeling of the stage lights off to the side. Excellent work.
