Lighthouse lit by the Moon

I like the centering of the moon lighting on the sea in front of the lighthouse without visible lighting. The heavy seas depicted with rolling seas away from lighthouse and coast, reflecting depth in your very dark night time offering.
Your choice of paint mix establishing good colors choice, throughout this offering. They in turn establish the expanse and depth of your art.

Good job! I love to paint; a lighthouse, a symbol of hope of safety, always appreciated, I think you captured the feel of mysterious apprehension that comes with such a setting. What is lurking in the moonlight?

a pleasant presentation of this evening seascape..my favourite area of the painting being the clouds and the moon as your blending techniques have produced quite something and pleasing to the eye. The colours in your ocean are spectacular as are the shapes of the rolling waves..the only improvement i feel is needed is in the spray that flys from the crests...they are way too thick and perhaps holding the brush at an angle and flicking the paint may put that better.overall a nice piece of art work

Congrats for the winning item - this for sure is worth - your ability to create a nature image fully alive and so accurate in color range and details just make your paintings stand out - this one is fantastic in composition, color range, night time ambiance and finest detail work - your light tower is sitting at the perfect space to let the view open to the far distance , excellent painting, expressing the power of the ocean as well - fantastic -thanks for sharing

A very calming painting. It would be hard to paint a night scene and still have light come through. I would of liked to see more reflection of the moon on the water. You did a good job on the waves. Well done.

It is a shame that your original light house was taken by the Sea so long ago . Having it that far back seems like so unreal to me cuz lighthouses to me should be as close to the water as possible.
Never-the-less having it further back is quite alright as long as anyone out at sea can still see the light source and that is what counts . I love your rendition of this night art with the Moon shining and being able to see those harsh waves pounding up against the shoreline being able to see the entire lighthouse on your left. The waves are done exceptionally well. I like your painting over all. Everything about it from the colors to the lighting to the texture as it brings out those fierce waves to the shadows and highlights and overall composition. I wish you the best at the voting booth. I am sure you will win. You have my vote. If not....I'm sure you will make it in the top three. Thanks so much for sharing.

Thank you so much for your lovely review. Yes, I agree that a lighthouse should be right on the rocks but on our coast in the UK we have lost several whole villages over the years due to the erosion by the sea. Sadly now our lighthouse is no longer a working one but is maintained as a museum showing several interesting fossils, etc. and is also a memorial to an old film star who was born here, Kay Kendall and is actually now owned by her sister.
