Incredible job on the colors and markings on this Gulf Butterfly as well as the green leaves and tiny red flowers.

A very pretty piece of art, the colors are delightful as is the subject matter. Difficult I suspect as it's so small which makes it all the more worthy, Congratulations on winning the contest, you deserved it for sure!

excellent use of space - I think the view point is well chosen as well as the open wings of the butterfly

Looks like I missed out this one when it was posted the first time, but I fully understand that you won the contest with this lovely picture.
I especially like the textured background, and the two small blooms you have added, and the butterfly is done paying very good attention to details. I like how the white spots are standing out as well.
The format and framing is perfect, and the butterfly has got a very good placement on the canvas. A truly lovely and well done digital painting Cleo. Sorry that I have run out of 6 stars ratings, because I think this one is worth it.

Nothing wrong with painting what your eyes see. A number of other well know artists were considered "visionaries" (pun intended) for doing what their bad eyesight saw. Nicely done mage of the butterfly. Good color and definition. Well seen.
