Such a nice tradition, the painting and the treasure hunting :) I like the technique and how creative your eye is when filling the details once the color is applied. You achieve very nice details with so few lines.

You have apparently a creative mind. This is an unusual, but very interesting technique. It gives an abstract feel to realistic drawn shapes. The colors are well matched and eye pleasing.

Many thanks, Cleo, for your very nice review. My 4 year old grandson, his great Grandma and I all had another fun day painting - it's interesting to see what shapes can appear. Suzanne

    Interesting indeed.
    What did your companions paint?

Barney's Great Grandma, who is also my friend, also had a go at blobbing paint on and turned hers into flowers whilst Barney started off with blobs and ended up painting a boat on the sea! Great fun! Suzanne

That sounds exiting. I guess both paintings turned out great.
I always found paintings of children especially inspiring. Children have such a great imagination.

Wow Suzanne, you did it again! This is another masterpiece. I might even like this one a little better than the flowers. With the same pastel pallet, they would look great hanging together as a set.

Wow! This is an virtual 6 for overall compositional style whichnisnvisually soothing & appealing!
I like how the colors just spread at no particular outline.
Muted colors. Subdued lighting! Compact framing.
What pen did you use-- it's so fine?!?
I'm curious to see your 4 year old grandson painting!
I should be your iPadgrapher! LoL!

Thanks for sharing...

Many thanks, Dick, for your great review. We all had another fun day painting this week although he was distracted for some of the time as his Grandpa and Grandma were having a new hedge planted round one of their fields where their horses are so he had to go and supervise! Suzanne

Hi Suzanne, I remember reviewing a flower piece you did in the same manner as this one. I like how it's become a family project and the lovely results the finished job becomes . You seem to know just where to draw in the pebbles and seashells afterwards. The colors and the image is beautiful and looks like you planned the whole thing out. Very Nicely Done My Friend! :o) Helvi

Suzanne,
I wish I had a six for you for this beautiful picture of the sea bed covered in pebbles & beautiful shells as seen though the water in a rock pool. Created with very skilful penmanship Beautiful choice & placement of your colours for the different shells & pebbles.

suzannethompson2 - Without the benefit of your detailed notes I would have thought you drew out the patterns and then painstakingly applied the color.

What a marvelous multi generational project.

Your method of creating this striking abstract is first rate 'out of the box ' thinking, kudos.

You have given your grandson something he will cherish for the rest of his life - but ain't that what Grams are for? ... B-)) Bob
