I saw this photo when I looked at the result of the contest, and thought it was truly beautiful. Especially because of the great colors. The combination of red and green for the black and white butterfly works so well, and since the background is so nicely softened the butterfly is standing out in an excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is really clear and well defined details to be seen both in the butterfly and the bloom. I also think the exposure is perfect.
The format you have cropped the photo into works really well, and the flower and butterfly have got a perfect placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

Just came across your image here in the contest and like it enough I wanted to come have a better look.
The clarity in your Butterfly is marvelous! He is crisp and sharp and really well detailed. Color is good throughout your image and the whites and blacks of the butterfly are particularly good....nice and clean...spot on exposure as well. Almost looks like a bit of noise in the background....I imagine this was a good size crop?? But it's minor. The little square format you've chosen is perfect to frame this guy.
I was going to say the blossom looks like LONICERA (aka- 'Honeysuckle') but I see you've taken this in the Philippines so it could be any sort of exotic plant I'm NOT familiar with. At any rate, I wish you the best w/ this in the contest....you have a ton of competition but this one most definitely jumped out at me.

Color intensity is amazing. The range of focus works well by keeping the background muted. The black and white butterfly is a surprise, since one would usually expect the color to come from the subject, not the environment. Good choice.
