I love the coloring of this. I think it carries the vintage feel into your story in your outstanding notes. And WOW on the date of this coin! What an great plan for this macro composition. And you have included just enough of the face of the coin and very smartly included that very fine, etched edge that you have in perfect clarity and exposure with your settings. Great job on that as I think this appears as a non flat image...making the macro harder to accomplish throughout the frame. Excellent job.

I like the curve that you have used at the lower frame. That curve could have been on either side or a corner or off put... But you have kept the symmetry and balance which made me look at the date on your coin. Too much interference with lines and the overall position of the coin might deter your viewers attention. Again...great choice.

This really is an interesting composition and a well captured one for this contest! Best of luck!!

A fantastic story and although being english I don't know about this particular coin, but I do know the importance and fascination of collecting items like these - pieces of history, or as you say times gone by. Amazing macro clarity to this photo really showin the silver and great angle and lighting. Great pic.
