This is a beautiful image, Cleo and well deserved winner for the month. Excellent use of colours, light and shade. I love the feathery background grasses. I like the pose you chose for the young male Northern Cardinal posing in the hope of attracting a mate. Lovely composition. Suzanne

This is one bird I have yet to Capture. When we find them at the Wetlands, the slightest noise sends them into the trees. I never have a chance to focus before they fly off.
I am very impressed with the colors, details and realism on the handsome Cardinal.
The eye clarity with bonus catch light is superb.

I am lucky I have them in my garden and the are quite used to me because I feed them. If somebody else visits and goes near them the will fly off.

Red....ooh-la-la....my favorite color and you have done up this little guy beautifully. Your reds are wonderful and blended so nicely on this fella. Love the pose w/ his little head up in the air. It's marvelous. Your background greens let that brilliant red just POP on the page.
Excellent notes....wonderful title. Love it Cleo. Easily a gold star piece!!

Excellent painting of your Cardenal as looks all puffed up trying to attract his mate. Enjoy all the detail you painted into him and absolutely love the natural color you struck. Bird is framed perfectly in the grass that with a muted background, makes him really pop. Thank You for sharing.

I think it must take quite a bit of talent to start with a blank canvas and end up with such a realistic image. Your attention to light and shadow is remarkable. I think the title for the pose is great too.
