Bless his heart for taking them off outside. I wish I could get my grandson to do that. The lighting and the set-up is super. The tight crop and focus give this an almost 3D feel. The feel of the shot is old fashion and something that you might have seen in the fifties ads in a magazine. Fun shot.

Sorry, but I do not find the subject to be particularly interesting.
The post work is nice. I do like the textures & colour of the boots (the color filter you used as well was a good idea), but other than that, this photo doesn't do much for me.

Hummmm....it is for a contest with a particular theme. Your comments really show that possibly you have chosen the wrong site to be a part of since this is a place for people to share their Art. I see Art that "doesn't do anything for me" but I certainly would not demean that Art or Artist because it isn't my taste.

I am not demeaning you. If anything, you are demeaning me for not giving you instant 5 stars.
The boots subject does not interest me. Perhaps if you had done something else like fruit, or flowers, I may have liked it more.

This is how to make work shoes look beautiful and artistic. The water color filter softens the look perfectly and contributes to that. But, for me its the fabulous composition with its perfect crop and framing, positioning of the two shoes, and that spray of green leaves so well placed for contrast and softening the scene. A six star effort for sure. None left, though.

Very good shot, and highly appropriate for this contest! Great centering of the shoes in the frame and perfect overall clarity. I like the old feel the step and bricks have in the background. Plus, those are very clean work boots! lol. Good luck!

A very nice shot. The shoes seem to glow with a light of their own. I like the painted bricks and the weathered wood of the step. I could do without the leaves on the left though. Best of luck in the contest.

Nicely framed take on such a common everyday object. Simply framed but speaking volumes.
Camera settings are super fine.
DOF provides sharp and crisp detail through out this take.
Contrast, color, and lighting accent the leather and masonry and lend a pleasing texture to the take. The inclusion of the greenery makes it all the more eye appealing.
A simple subject that is well photographed ... B-)) Bob

Not sure what a stoop is, but I am sure this is a fine shot! Like the full and central composition which gives a good look at those boots. Sharpness and exposure are good. Well done and good luck!
