Love the feathered friend. Your close detailed painting is remarkable. I feed birds at my home and listen to them sing every morning. Going to be hot today so about 3 in the afternoon things go quiet. You have a special gift.

Beautiful painting again - I like the macro look and the close up as you really worked on the fine details -his eye just stands out as well as the position of his head - beautiful color bled well defined in flowing into each other in a harmonious way - nice framing - great use of space - a wonderful soft presentation with a nice initial impact - thanks for sharing

Thank you very much for your encouraging comments. This is just a close up, not a "true" macro. :o)

Cool,Cleo!
That's a fine looking digitally created Avian Portrait,my friend!
It's pleasantly colorful ( as the legend that you mention in your notes says that it should be! ) and it's very enjoyable to view!

Wow. Once again Cleo you has shown us you talent from the past.

This is a wonderful Digital art piece. The colors are lovely as they range from soft pastels to the more bold blues and reds.

The eye really captures the attention.

Great work Cleo and thank you so much for re-posting ~ Steve

Beautiful work as well as a nice story. I have a blue bunting that visit occasionally and it is wonderful to see. You have drawn and painted this very well. Appropriate shape and proportions in the bird. Lovely colors well blended. Nice details throughout. Good background. Just beautiful.

I love the culture of north american indians and they certainly lived inside of the nature, to make such fine observations. it's hard to understand the diversity of (or) within each tribe. some or most were highly violent and aggressive, especially towards other tribes. like a viking raiding party but actually part of the nature themselves. if they make any comment about the nature, it has to be considered, almost as a basic fact, however fantastic this notion could seem. this beautiful bird then represents the duality of man (its very self) and an individual indian could notice this stunning bunting, just before burying a tomahawk in another's head.

Thank you very much for your thoughtful comments and the gold. It makes me very happy that you like my painting. It makes me proud too. That is vanity, I know, but shows that we are indeed dual creatures. :o) :o) :o)

Hi Cleo, I love the colors of your Bunting and the story that goes with it. It sounds like the iridescent colors on the male Mallard's neck. If the sun isn't shining just right You don't see the lovely green. I definitely would love to see on of these birds. Thanks for sharing it here. Good Luck in the Contest my Friend! :o) Nancy

Those birds are more often heard than seen. The hide in dense shrubbery woods most the time.

I like the colorful feathers of this bird. I have always wanted to see one of these in person. I think your textures look wonderful in this painting and the bird is very life like. I enjoyed your notes too.

Cleo this is wonderful!! What a fabulous piece of digital artwork, just love the those colours but a part from that the artwork of the bird itself really does look alive and with that catchlight in the eye it makes all the image come alive! Great contest entry!
