What a wonderful catch! The vertical lines of the background work well with the stems that nicely frame the little bird. Perfect focus on the subject, while allowing the surroundings to be just slightly soft. Colors and lighting are appropriate for this setting.

Aw what a cutie this little one is. They are always partly disheveled looking at this stage. I love how they flutter their wings to be fed. Great capture with the meal worm. Well done Susan ~ Steve

    Steve,
Thanks a million for your great review. I was lucky one to get so close & secondly to catch it with a wriggling meal worm in it's beak.

Impressive cute & candid capture!

Sharply focused detailed
Fine features & fluffy textures.

Ideal off centered framing.
Controlled illumination with no blown out spots.
Green foliage lends a refreshing accent.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

Oh how sweet. This little bird is framed so nicely among the greenery and against the fence in the background. Such nice color and detail of the bird too. I like that you caught him mid-bite of dinner! Good work.

    Cathy,
Thanks a million for your complementary review. I watched it dig the worm from the ground then fly up into the bush.

Susan this is such a sweet photograph and you have done a nice job with exposure on it for we can see all the details on the bird. Your focus is smack on the money too and the environment caught helps to add meat to the story.

I like your considered crop in keeping in the branches and the softening of the background helps to pop out the focal point.

Your colours are natural and not overcooked in any fashion.

This photograph is a purist's delight and made my morning

    Olga,
Thanks a million for your review & kind words.
This was taken in 2015. One of the first times I was able to get so close to a Robin & not have it fly off , it was magical to observe it at such close quarters.

You have picked up some very nice detail of the wing markings on this bird and the currants. I like his position on the branch and how well his feet can be seen.

What a lovely photograph! The greens are just beautiful and the background fence color, the colors of the bird and the foliage all work so well together. Nice sharp focus and great flowing composition. Nicely done!

I like this lovely picture because it is so classical in its concept and execution. The light, colour and the composition have worked well. Good effort!
