This is awesome. I love the red wings.
I am so sorry to all the people who were murdered. Seems they just wanted to shut them up. Typical and scary!
Good luck in the contest.

Raoul, how excellent is your soul, which you have poured out upon this canvas. Beauty drips from your fingertips with your dreams and talent. This is most wonderful in a magnitude of ways. You are an artist, a true artist.

I love the history that goes with your artwork. The composition works with this piece because of the vertical lines that run across the angels wings. The small black figure in the left of the frame brings balance and interest to the whole piece.

Striking imagery.
The triangle composition style that was frequently used by 15th and 16th century artists works well here.
The action and colors flow upwards toward a pinnacle of wooden wings.
Is this perhaps a reference to Icarus and flying too high to reach the sun?
Your rotating colors are interesting as well. The draw you to different parts of the image.
Nice job!

Very interesting piece. The color choices add to the seriousness of the topic. The red winged angel is simultaneously symbolic of both hope and despair at the human condition.

Great historical notes & supplemental poem...

Another well thought out creation with fine features & varied textures.

Subtle colors with dynamic presentation.

Thanks for sharing...

Firstly, what a great and obscure tribute to a small movement that obviously you have a lot of respect and passion for, which is a lovely thing. secondly, what an amazing tribute - the detail and colours are amazing, and depict this terrible image, that is representative of the massacre you mention in your narrative, each character is carefully painted and positioned in place to make up this sad and grim scene. Atop the pile of defeated souls stands an angel of sorts looking in despair, which is the focal point of the piece and really shows the emotion of this short lived movement all those years ago. The colours are brilliant and diverse and the accuracy is excellent, showing great detail in each individual. A silhouette of a man still flying a flag reaches in from the right with a chance of hope perhaps; a wonderful though harrowing depiction of these events. Well done.
