What an interesting story and photograph as well.
Great contrast of brass and copper colors. First look pulls you right to the key. The candle light adds clarity and makes for a great shot. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest.

very cool capture.. so did they still put the tour groups in the cells to sit for a minute or 2 while the bars are closed? just curious. the clarity is great. the angle of the shot of the coins, key, candle and book is great. the capture of the light is great. the image is balanced and very eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall.

I remember visiting Alcatraz and it was cold and eerie if I remember correctly. This is a perfect visual, but it is warm and inviting, not so much as the place that I remember seeing. I love how you placed this in your photo. It is a talented work, for sure.

An interesting key indeed and well captured in sharp detail. I like this focus which emphasizes the key. The light also is excellent as is the limitation of color to shades of gold. The reflection below is intriguing. I am not happy about the framing. I think there should be some more space at the left. That the handle of the candle holder touches the frame is distracting. You might add some space at left, if your program has includes this possibility.

Hi Anon

This is a very well presented and arranged photograph. Looks like the cover of a book or perhaps a still from a movie. Excellent work maam or sire and good luck in the contest!

Outstanding still life photo and very worthy of the contest. I don't know if you were able to arrange the items but the display was obviously carefully selected for visual impact. Beautiful colors!

Very nice! Love the composition of this all around! Great color and great use of light and shadow! The only thing I might have done was use a bit more DOF and blurred the very back of the book a bit!! Great job!
