a great and beautiful sunburst Alan while combining the difraction of the high aperture with the difraction created by the leaves;

I think this is a beautiful entry into this contest, and you have indeed pictured this sunburst well. I especially like how well the rays are standing out and the golden touch on the greens.

Your photo is sharp with fine details, and I also think the exposure is spot on.

The format you have cropped the photo into works so well and the sunburst has got a very good placement off the left. A lovely and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Thanks much for this nice review. I try not to shoot too many of these as looking at the sun is not a good idea for you or your camera. Thanks again.

You are more than welcome Allan. I did not know doing this was bad for the camera ?

I really like this shot.
My mom has tried to get a shot like this so many times with no luck.
You photo is very clear and vibrant in color.
The burst of sun you capture is perfect, thanks for sharing.

This is very true to life...thank you for sharing your settings. You h ave a successful capture here of glaring rays on the sun. Not an easy shot to accomplish. I'm very pleased to see your Sony listed. I could spend a week with your and Olga's guidance on that!

I think this is a framer...hanging on a hospital wall...or a coffee shop wall. It is that appealing to me as a viewer.

Your own framing is perfect with the orb of the sun in the upper left and shooting rays to the lower right.

The varied greens / yellows of the leaves are a bit HD....yes? I like it. A fine work of photography/art. Thanks for sharing and good luck in the contest!

Thanks for the fine review. No HD in editing or shooting. I do have this tendency to have my Sony set to "vivid", which often over saturates the image.

It would not take a week of working on the Sony for you to be as proficient as Olga is. Many of the items you routinely use with your canon are done also in the Sony, maybe just with other buttons and wheels. Really a piece of cake. : D

Cool,Allan!
I used to really dislike 'Sunburst' photos but that was because most of the ones that I saw here on FAR just genuinely 'looked like crap' but that certainly isn't the case with this example that you're presenting us with! : )
I can't explain 'why' in technical terms ( I just 'take pictures' occasionally,I'm not a 'serious' Photographer! ) but your capture of he sun gleaming through the unchanged leaves of early Autumn has a sleek 'professional' look to it that I really like!
It's really enjoyable and it isn't annoyingly 'over powering'!
'Good Show',my friend! : )

Thanks Sean. I agree also, many starbursts are not very interesting, seen one, seen them all. So I am glad this one caught your attention and that you liked it. That means a lot to hear!

Just lovely. The golden reflections and the sunburst of light can't help but make one happy. Very expressive technique and thank you for explain8ng how it was accomplished.
