What a fantastic and creative
entry for the contest. Perfect for the lyrics. At first I thought it a bit creepy at first glance but after reading the narrative I see it is a great contender for this contest. Best of luck!

A great sinister piece, in tune with the upcoming Halloween and a good entry for the competition, accompanied by some heavy duty lyrics that fit the creepy skull well, photographed with good clarity and although only a discarded halloween mask, when a bit of imagination is added can become something quite darker.....I wouldn't have shot it with the white pipe behind is my only negative as it clashes slightly and is a little distracting and ruins the moment in a way, but is not bad enough to drop stars in my opinion and also adds to the slightly grotty and industrious background in which the skull is placed, so it can work both ways ;) The rest of the background I like as it is random and dirty and contrasts colour wise well with the subject, but fits in perfectly with the theme - best of luck in the competition! :)

Thank you very much for your throughout and encouraging review. You are right, the white pipe is not the best background, but I was unable to move that mask. The lyrics are from the title song of the movie "Sympathy for the Devil" [Rolling Stones, 1968]. The contest rules ask for including the lyrics in the comments.

Indeed I'd guessed the part about the lyrics, but heavy duty, right? not in a bad way, but hard hitting ;) I vaguely know the song and knew the competition was about it - your piece fits in very well!

    Yes, heavy duty indeed.
