I agree that the light is perfect here, shining up from below and highlighting the beautiful blue/purple colors. So great against the muted background. Lovely angle too. Nice work.

I really like the simplicity of this photo and also very much the background. The last because it is picking up the color of the flower. I also like how the light seems to come from the inside of the bloom, and how nicely it is standing out from the background.
Your photo is also pin sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in every part of the flower. I also think the exposure is spot on.
The way you have cropped the photo is perfect and I like the diagonal placement of the flower within the frame. Indeed a beautiful and well taken flower photo, and with an excellent DOF. Would have given you 6 stars for this one if I had any left.
