Those eyes are gorgeous. I think the leaf in the foreground helps to emphasize the color tones in the eyes nicely. I just read your notes and see that you said the same thing about the fern! It does work great to have the surrounding colors to compliment the eyes :) Milo is a cutie!

I really like how well the greens are standing out against the otherwise monochrome colors, and you have indeed captured them well. I also like how the fern at the bottom is working as a nice and natural framing.
Your focus is spot on and sharp showing clear and well defined details, and even if parts of the background turned out white, the all over exposure is fine.
The tight cropping works well and the cat has got a fine placement within the frame. A sweet and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.
