I think this is a photo asking for being presented in black and white, and I especially like how well you have captured the steam from the engine. I also like very much the panorama format.
Your photo is also nice and sharp showing clear and well defined details in the train. Perhaps the photo is a bit on the dark side, and personally I would have raised the exposure with just a bit.
The train has got a good placement within the frame given a bit of room to move into, and the framing is fine. All together a nice and well taken photo, and I wish you luck with the contest.

Yes, it does look as if this train is travelling in times gone by. Your tight composition is very appropriate, making the eye really take in the train. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

Nice photo contest entry. The way you chose to shoot it in black and white makes the train look old and mysterious. The composition works with the steam coming out to the left upper corner and the tree to balance the lower right corner. Nice detail in your work. Good luck in the contest.
