A lovely piece of pastel work so soft the sky is lovely and the colours compliment very well the white boat standing out with colours and the bit of plant work in the foreground nice touch

It's a very cool piece . Your color scheme is spot on. Excellent composition. I think the hull of the boat might need to be in the form shadow . It's a very cool piece.

This is a great mood scene. I like the dark clouds contrasted with the clouds highlighted by the setting son. The shadows in the water are super.

My one suggestion is with the boat. I would suggest the hull of the boat be deeper in the water. It seems to be sitting higher on the water than normal.

PS-I had to give up on pastels as it seems I am allergic to some of the dyes in them. Sad.

Thanks so much. I try to fix that. Something was bothering me but I couldn?t figure out what. If I had any review nominations left this month I?d give you one. I?ll remember for next month. Thanks for your help. Also, would you ad a little blue to the water?
reply by allanoak on 30-Oct-2017
Not sure more blue would be the ticket. How about more reflection of the yellow clouds and dark clouds?

I think the wind in the sail is really cool.

Yes. I have wash my hand frequently, especially with the reds and I run an air purifier in the art room.

A lovely scene of the boat gently sailing in the breeze
I like the grasses which frame the scene and draw the viewer in, I like the muted but light colour pallet and the atmosphere this creates, lovely well done.

Nice use of pastel colors in your beach scene. Beautiful brush strokes and blending and shading of colors. Gorgeous sailboat....this depiction is excellent. Nicely framed with the grasses and sunset colors. An excellent composition and nice movement in our scene. A creative and talented art work. Thanks for sharing.

Hi Linda

Wow. The sun has coloured this perfectly. The glow is brilliant as is the focus on the boat. I wonder if the mast isnt missing a bit more solidity though. It might be my eyes though! :) Excellent work. R

Thank you so very much for your exceptional review. I reworked that darn boat three times. No pain no gain, lol.

The sailboat turned out well. The view of the people on the boat is very realistic and so full of remarkable detail considering their size. I think the sky is the star of this piece. The colors and textures are very attractive with good depth worked into and around the clouds. The reflections across the water are nice too and I think the highlights on the birds wings are perfect.

I am so impressed with your ability to capture a feeling, a thought with your brush. Outlined ropes, sails, boat, against the back drop of brushed seas, and skies. This is an ethereal sight. Almost spiritual.
