Exceptional photo this!
The DOF really enhances the bird's form.
The subtle and sharp colors you captured in the feathers is quite amazing. You can zoom in and see every little detail!
The expression is great as well. A kind of "Hey, how's it going" type of look.

Nice shot of the Green Heron. We don't have any of these near us, otherwise I would be out photographing them as well. They have such interesting colours. Well done :-)

This is spectacular Eileen! The angle shows off the plumage nicely and you have captured impeccable detail of the entire bird. The exposure and depth are spot on. I like how well the color of the markings stand out as well as the texture of the plumage and light in the eye. Gorgeous!
