These are really cool looking flowers. So unusual, and the white is ghostly! The waxy texture stands out well and makes them look like some sort of fungus but then their bell shapes tops resemble flower petals. The coloring and close view of this cluster looks great. Your notes are interesting too.

Now THIS is very cool SC. I'd never seen or even heard of these before and it makes a fascinating entrant for a Flower contest. Very good notes btw. Really appreciate it when an artist says something about their image and this image I would have really wondered about w/o your included notes.
I like the tall vertical format you've selected....accentuates the lankiness of these flowers. Exposure for your whites is good. I'm going back and forth on whether I think your image is as crisp as it might be...but perhaps that's partly b/c of the material these are composed of....are they soft? sort of squishy?? That's the idea I get from looking at them.
At any rate, it is such an interesting post. It's rare for me to see a flower I have never seen before...let alone even heard of....so you got me...lol Best of luck w/ it in the contest.

Thanks so much for your great review.Love looking for these plants in the woods around June.The are sorta soft and are covered with bract like scales instead of leaves.They are very cool,and I hope someday you will get to see some in person!

A great find and a wonderful shot of it. The backlighting really makes them glow and your exposure for the whites is perfect. A will composed shot with great colors. Best of luck in the contest.

interesting capture. the clarity is great. the capture of the light s great. the angle of the shot of this fungus is great. the image is balanced and eye appealing to the viewer. good eye and great job overall
