Thank you very much for your six star vote and your comments. However, I think you might have misunderstood some of my text. This is not a drawing from one of my scenes. It is a mental creation of what I consider to be the essence of elements that attribute to the concept of what makes up Chaco Canyon. I used several photos to jog my memory of the photo trip. The blooming cactus was along the road and some of the trails leading up to various sites. The independent Kivas were captured from three or four different sites, I think, in order to display them in a city like field. The wall ruins are an interpretation from several different sites. The walking bluffs, as I like to think of them represent about all the bluff types that buildings were build under. The look through window that frames the scene is also an interpretation of the several different windows, that still exist as windows, looking out at different parts of the canyon. I determined the sky had to have horizontal clouds to represent the type of clouds that form in the monsoon season in New Mexico. I hope this clarifies the creative process for you. This is a very good illustration and great contest entry for the frames contest. You have framed the canyon well. The sky has horizontal clouds that go well with the vertical stone work. Nice detail in the bricks and stone. Good luck in the contest.

I have been to Chaco as well as Mesa Verde. Both incredible places. The energy in these sacred places is amazing.
You have done an amazing job with your portrait here.
