A beautiful animal photo presented here! Your full and central composition provide a compelling portrait of your cuddly looking bear. Sharpness and exposure are good. Nicely done!

Thank you Nik for going back and reviewing this guy :)
I appreciate that. Happy New Year!

He looks like how Eileen and I feel tonight! Pfft..we hiked two Wetlands today.
It's not easy shooting through glass but you managed well.
Love the dirt on his nose and his tired looking pose.
Like he just plopped down and decided to stay there.
Nice work G ~ Lu

Great looking shot!. Fine example of wild life photography. Your timing appears to be perfect and you have captured the contended look on grizzly's face very well.Good effort!

What a great image Grace. You have captured such a nice pose which is peaceful and yet deceptively safe. Growing up in Idaho and practically living in Yellowstone, we say many Black bear and on several occasions the Grizzly. The joke was that if you are being chased by a bear, climb a tree. If the bear climbs up to get you it is a Black Bear. If it can't climb the tree it is a Grizzly (their claws are flat and they cannot climb trees). At least if it gets you know what kind it was ; ) Nice work here Grace ~ Steve

Thank you Steve. Too funny! I think Grizzlies can actually climb trees, just not with the same speed and agility as black bears - but what's the difference? They'd would more likely catch you before you even got to the tree! :)

This is a beautiful photo of this lovely bear. Wonderful closeup shot with excellent detail and focus. He definitely looks like he is ready for some slumber.
What amazing facts in your narrative. Truly educational.
A real pleasure to view.

Oh this is a wonderful image of this guy Grace....and REALLY good notes!

Great angle! Focus is CRISP...colors are natural and exposure is spot on perfect. Love the sand on the nose...lol It's really a nice presentation. The bears have finally gone down for hibernation here too...good thing w/ this brutal cold we're having right now. Oh and like your new profile pic Grace....at least new to me.

Thank you! I actually wondered if I should try to remove the sand, but I thought it was cute and natural. We are getting some of that cold here too. Wind chill advisory here, dropping into the 25 to 40 below zero range tonight through Monday. temp without windchill was minus 15 degrees this morning when I left for work. Too cold!
reply by PeglegDeb on 31-Dec-2017
Oh good that you left it Grace. I never mess around w/ stuff like that on my photos....leave it natural. Yes...the cold is BRUTAL. Been having water issues....it's just exhausting when it stays so cold for so damn long.

Your central composition of Kenai is engaging and your low perspective is aiding in your composition. A like the tender moment captured and expression and emotions of this gorgeous bear. Superb eye clarity drawing you into your scene. Your focus is spot on and sharp with good lighting and incredible details of the fur and markings. So enjoyed reading your artists notes. Outstanding work and thanks for sharing.

Envision. Great photo. How close did you have to get to take this photo? You must have a telescopic lens. Thank you for sharing and best of luck with this image

Thank you very much! I was standing about four feet from this guy - behind glass :)

A fine shot from an excellent perspective. It is easy to imagine how hibernation might seem like the only way to go when I look out on the snow and ice that has settled in. Fine detail in the bear and great colors.
