Nice take on this flower and the composition, showing the two back up singers adds visual meat.

Your colour palette is rich but natural and the sharpness is appropriate for the focal point. Nice contrast with good detail showing and these colours do have a tendency to bleed but you have handled it well.

LOL I really enjoy how you see singers and dancers (dancing on my last piece) on my flower posts Olga. I see my flowers dancing all the time....it's a very happy little garden you see. Do really appreciate you having a look at this one. Thank you for the review....and the smiles.

This is a wonderful capture of these peonies and the hot pink color is to die for. I love the off centered perfectly focused bud with magnificent detail. It definitely sets the stage in this one, and the others give your photo a perfect balance
without taking your focus away from the gorgeous larger bud. Beautifully framed and a real pleasure to view.

Beautiful!! I can almost smell this peony...at least I would like to think that in this mid winter.. I really like your framing here...with the bg of the young admirers seeming to be watching and hoping to be as lovely as this peony. Notes are as excellent as always. I have a couple of new peonies that I planted after blooming season last year. I hope they survive this winter!! Your photography is amazing! Thank you for sharing. It is always a pleasure!

'young admirers' lol...very good Becky! I think they wanted to be sure they were included in the photo...lol I always think they all perk up when I'm out and about in the gardens w/ my camera....like "her, here...come over HERE and take MY picture" Anyway, thank you so much for having a look at these guys and for the wonderful review you've given them....and I'd almost bet your new shrubs will blossom this next season. PEONIES are tough!

A very nice flower composition with excellent point of focus and shallow depth of field. Great colors and color harmony. Nice details with sharp focus.
Very good visual and initial impact. Good center of interest. Your lighting and exposure are very well controlled. Wonderful technique and technical excellence. A visual treat for the eye.

Congrats!

Deborah,
I though at first glance it was a Parrot Tulip like the ones grown by my mother then I read your notes to find it a beautiful Red Peony half open bud ~ Paeonia Kansas with red & green outer petals. Beautiful composition with the two companion flow & bud in the blurred background. Beautiful composition with the beautiful contrasts between the flowers & their green foliage. Taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus.

It IS shaped like a Parrot TULIP here at this stage Susan. Good eye....and knowledge of flowers! Thank you for the wonderful review. I do really appreciate it.

Informative artist's notes.
Landscapers learn something from your posts!

Excellent choice of subject with fine floral features & velvety smooth textures.
Color saturation is just enough.
Verdant surroundings lend a contrasting backdrop to this gorgeous bloom in an off centered framing but visually balanced by those out-of-focus buds.

Nice perspective & narrow DOF.

Thanks for sharing...

This is so pretty Deborah=) The colors are awesome! I have these in my garden too=) The only problem is the first rain we get always knocks them over! The focus is spot on! The lighting is very nice! Well done and a pleasure to view! Lori

I have almost 50 PEONIES Lori and every year I purchase 2 or 3 more hoops. Takes me 1/2 day each spring to put them up and another to take them down every Autumn. But it used to break my heart to see those big beautiful blossoms lie in the mud. Thank you so much for giving this guy such a lovely review. Do appreciate it.

Quite a nice bloom shot posted here! Like the combinations of reds, greens and textures that you have captured. In my opinion I feel that the image would be further improved by cropping out the blurred blooms on the right. Nevertheless a lovely photo!

I would love to see your bed of Peonies, because it sounds fantastic the way you have described it. I only have 3 plants, but they are big. It is a fantastic color of the one you have photographed here, and it is standing out so well against the nicely softened background.

Your photo is also nice and sharp and it is clear and well defined details to be seen in the bloom. I also think the exposure is spot on.

The cropping is perfect and the flower has got a very good placement off to the left. The faded ones in the background work as a nice balance. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo, and with an excellent DOF.

I may be more proud of that bed than any other AV...and it is the one closest to the house so even at night-time when I am inside I can smell the PEONIES.....awww...just heaven. Your review- as always is perfection. Thank you and thank you as well for giving this guy such a lovely review. Now you and I just wait, yes? lol The PEONIES will blossom again in 4.5-5 months.

Thanks for your informative notes with this beautiful shot of the lovely Peony coming into bloom. I like the angle you used showing the buds in the background and the green offsets the Peony perfectly. Great lighting and focus. Lovely composition Deborah. Suzanne
