Initial impact : I love this ! Well focused dogwood blossom, nice detail in the petals and green leaf on stem below, this is beautiful and I love how this pink toned blossom stands out against the same toned background, for me, this gives an artistic flair! This is well composed and best of luck in contest, this was a pleasure to view !

I have never seen a Dogwood bloom being photographed like this, and it is just stunning seen from this angle. I also like that a softened version of these flowers are used as a background. The light is falling on the flower in such a lovely way, and it is also standing out from the background in the most excellent way.
Your focus is spot on and sharp and it is such clear and well defined details to be seen in the petals. The exposure is perfect and the colors are just fantastic.
The format and framing works so well and the flower has got a very good placement off to the left. This of course makes for a good and well balanced composition.
Indeed a lovely and well taken photo with an excellent DOF, and I wish you luck with the contest Barbara.

Quite a nice flower shot entered here for your competition! Your almost central composition allows us an enjoyable look at your gorgeous flower. The camera settings you employed have done a grand job of isolating the background. Exposure and sharpness are good. Well done and good luck!

I see you are using the same programs that I do. I have several of the Topaz program. I like this but if this were mine I would make the object flower stand out more by maybe making the background darker. I see a little noise also, but all in all a nice photograph. Good Luck!

This is sooooo beautiful!!! I love it. It is soft and feminine. The pink on pink really is stunning. The framing of the flower works with the flower off center. The one leaf that is sticking up looks as if the flower is blushing or waving. Good luck in the contest as this is a great contender.
