Hi Grace!
That's a fine looking picture by anyone's measure of it,my friend!
( Well, perhaps some 'expert' will find fault with it for some inconsequential reason or another.
: ) )
The filtering work is really cool but what I'm especially liking is the 'aerial view' look that the picture has!
Definitely a 'Good Show',my friend! : D

HAHAHA! Gracie Lu is getting Jiggy with the kitchen tools!!
If this were mine... I have no honey Strainer filter thingy!
You are a CLEVER girl once you get that blood flowing and pumping!
I am very impressed with your Artistic idea of using a honey Strainer fig-a- ma -jig in front of your lens, love the tree and it's shadow and the sparkle of the snow and textures the filter added are incredible.
Fine white balance Control and great winter shot!

nice post production work here, I like that the filter gives this a bleak and cold feel, good use of light and shadow, well framed and balanced. good work

This little tree looks very lonely, thank goodness he has his shadow to keep him company.
I really like the look of the sparkly untouched snow.
This is such a lovely piece, thanks for sharing with us.

Picture perfect simple. Isn't it wonderful how we find some of our greatest achievements by experiments. This is a really nice. I can see the sparkles in the snow. Well discovered.

I really like what you have come up with here! Great use of home made filter!
:) Should be a contest for that and this would be a perfect addition! The effects are great. Your use of lighting also works great. Excellent visual and initial impact. Great lighting and exposure. Sharply focused with good center of interest.
Wonderful textures. Very creative indeed. Excellent technique and high technical excellence!
Pleasure to view. Great work!

This should be a potential e try to the Lone Tree contest!

Creative concept. Innovative approach. Imaginative presentation.
I love the shadow slightly to tie left frame as opposed to being directly at the center!
Dichromatic presentation.

Good perspective & long depth of field...
Thanks for sharing...

Thank you! I didn't see the lone tree contest. I will have to check that out for a different tree.

You are right, the filter does give a nice sparkle to the image. What I really like is the simplicity both of the solitary tree as subject and the minimal colors. My only suggestions might be to bring up the shadows a touch to see if we can pull a bit more detail from the tree, and compositionally, maybe leave more room to the left and below the tree, offering some negative space. Lovely image.

This is awesome! I love the tree and the shadow, this draws the viewer right in, this is well composed, it's a great choice of title too! This would look great framed and displayed on a wall. Thank you for sharing !
