What an interesting subject for this contest...and wonderful job w/ the notes you included w/ your piece.
Now I am assuming your photo was the Piper as you said you used a new background, yes? Well your background is just perfect for your subject...especially considering your title and notes. Focus on your Piper is beautiful....CRISP CRISP CRISP...every detail of both he and his bagpipes are perfect. The colors are lovely...and natural and exposure is spot on.
The vertical presentation is excellent...and again, your background and your subject go so well together w/ Piper placed in just the right spot. Even where his feet sit on the ground looks natural. It's such a well put together piece. I like it and wish you the best w/ it in the contest.

High on a Hill this Dapper Lonely Piper plays his Bagpipes for the mountains.
Love the background complete with misty like fog rough rock cliffs.
Your focus, white balance and details are Superb here.
The expert skills of your layering and oil paint filter really make this a beautiful view of the Lone Piper.

such an interesting photo. I'm impressed how you have created a new background as it makes the lonely piper really pop out of the picture in a most amazing way. The mist coming off the mountain behind his pipes creates a great backdrop to the pipes and the dark earthy colour of the rock face makes his kilt really stand out but also blends beautifully with the rocks. The touch of blue in the sky above adds another dimension to the scene. cleverly done and a pleasure to share. Best of luck in the contest. cheers mel
