Very nice dof here Mike, the background has that nice dreamy softness that is very attractive. The pose offers a lovely view of the markings and your framing positions the bird nicely.

Very strange name for this bird when the red is on its head! Your full and central composition offers us a great look at your gorgeous bird. Exposure and sharpness are good?. Well done and good luck!

Have you ever wondered why a Red Bellied Woodpecker has a red head and white belly? You have great focus on the back of the bird so we see the detail tere, but th efocus on thehead, eye and bill is very soft and that is where i would like to see more clearly. Background work to make him stand out. There is a good sense of action and concentration in the image. Well seen.

A beautiful picture of this alert Red Bellied Woodpecker gazing upward from it's perch on the end of the dead brach. A beautiful composition, framing & lighting taken with superb camera techniques & sharp focus. GOOD LUCK IN THE CONTEST.

What a beautiful woodpecker, this is different from the downy woodpeckers we have here in Ak. This is well photographed, the image is clear and shows good detail good eye contact. Well exposed showing natural colors and tones, well placed in frame with the clear background that showcases him well without distraction ! I love his red head!
