Hi supergold thanks for sharing this stunning shot of the lotus flower in all its glory, awaiting that oncoming bee with all its glowing beauty. Love the title. it leaves the imagination with plenty to think about.. The rich purple hue of the petals that are splayed out to entice that little fellow closer have done their job. I love the centre of the bloom.. it looks like a glowing fire pit that has the intensity of hot flames burning from within. Those purple stylus protruding from below are like needles waiting for their prey.. and of my goodness , , here he comes... poor defenseless little stingless bee.. Hope he grabs some pollen and makes a quick get away.. The angle used to capture your scene is perfect.. it intensifies the central burning pit and allows us to focus on the bee taking a dive into the unknown.. Awesome colour combination with the deep purple and the glowing golden hue.. together they compliment each other perfectly to create excellent eye appeal .. Fabulous exposure and spot on lighting .. the clarity is brilliant as is the cropping of the petals to create impact.. well done and congratulations Supergold on your well earned win. I can definitely see why this photo won the macro flower contest. The bee looks like he is flying over a lava pit or something. It is so interesting to look at. The purple and yellow colors are amazing along with the sharp focus and close up details.

Very nice shot here. I love everything about this photo except the name. I looks like Bee-Vana (Nirvana) to me rather then hell.
The intense yellow to purple and the bit of red on the lower right is really breathtaking.
The little wee bee looks like it is trying to decide where to land given all the choices.
Quite beautiful!

Wow this is pretty interesting. Great title. I love the vibrant colors. I am glad I am not the bee. I believe I would be very intimidated if I was the bee. This almost looks whimsical.

An outstanding shot, especially without editing, of this beautiful purple and yellow lotus flower, taken with great clarity and short DOF and captured in great light, with a "visitor" hovering above that gives a clue about the photographer ;) An interesting title and I see the relevance as the almost fire like appearance of the yellow in the centre is quite fitting; the clarity is shrpo and clear and the lighting great, and the bee is captured flying above like a helicopter over a volcano. Beautiful bright colours and lighting throughout, and cropped tightly and neatly - a great capture and entry for the competition, best of luck in the polls :)
