It is amazing how flexible their very long necks are, and I also think the pink colors are truly lovely. The black background is perfect for showing this, and the bird is of course also standing out from it in an excellent way.

Your photo is sharp showing clear and well defined details in every part of the bird, and the exposure is spot on.

The format you have cropped the photo into works really well, and the bird has got a fine placement within the frame. Indeed a lovely and well taken photo Eileen, and with an excellent DOF.

Hi eileen0204

Wow. What a lovely photograph this is. The detail on the plumage is exquisite. I have been thinking of a suitable subject for the Color Pink Traditional Art contest and wondered if you would permit me perhaps to try and sketch this photograph for it, please? I'll give you the credit! And of course, I'll understand if you'd rather I didnt. It's very precious work! :) R

Hi Eileen thank you for sharing this amazing shot of the Greater Flamingo.. what an awesome pose you have captured.. Only a bird could be so flexible... Fantastic exposure and lighting really show up the feathered coat of this delightful bird .. The covering on his head and neck have a rather unique pattern and looks more his skin stretches over this area of his body, without the added feathered coat.. What a wonderful beak he possesses .. . useful for so many hunting ventures... so he is able to gulp down varying types of food for his lunch time menu.. the pinkish hue on his beak appears to circle his eye and extend upward onto his forehead... fascinating markings, so clearly seen in this excellent photo. love the angle used .. it shows off his features well. His eye is almost iridescent , with that tiny pupil contrasting against the whiteness ... It almost makes him look like an albino flamingo.. especially with that pink hue surrounding it.. Love the stunning white feathered coat that extends over his back and wing area.. soft, fluffy and elegant to show off his beauty to the world.. The photo is nicely balanced and the black background really makes the flamingo pop... The picture emanates a feeling of joy.. nature's wonderful specimens offer so much beauty for us to appreciate.. thanks for sharing your flamingo photo.. a true pleasure to review. cheers mel

It's a superb captured pose of this
Greater Flamingo. You have nice white balance control and fine eye clarity. I know you love to play...and you love the fur and feather filters, but I prefer your work straight out of the camera.
But your shot...your choice.
Love the dark background.
Nicely done Sloth of Joy ;)
